Tutankhamun Exhibition 2019/2020

tankhamun exhibition

Tutankhamun or "King Tut" is probably the most well-known Egyptian pharaoh. Born in around 1342 BC, he was only nine years old when he became a pharaoh and just 18 when he died. However his body was mummified and his golden coffin was buried surrounded by 5,000 priceless treasures. This tomb was found some 3,000 years later by British archaeologists in 1922, providing an intriguing insight into the life of the Egyptian King.

In the largest Tutankhamun exhibition ever to tour, fascinating artefacts from the tomb will come to London one final time before they permanently go on display in the brand-new Grand Museum in Cairo. This is your chance to view over 150 stunning, authentic tomb objects, 60 of which are on display outside of Egypt for the first time. This is likely to be a sell out event, so don't miss your chance to visit Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea!
